Macau's Cotai Strip in 2026 — A Casino-by-Casino Tour
Macau's Cotai reclamation is now bigger by gaming revenue than the Las Vegas Strip — by a multiple. Here's what each property is actually like and which to pick for your trip.
Cotai is reclaimed land between Taipa and Coloane islands — eight mega-resorts in a 2-mile strip. Wynn Palace is the most luxurious, Venetian Macao is the biggest by floor area, City of Dreams has the best nightlife, MGM Cotai the cleanest design, Galaxy the best pool. Mass-floor minimums run HK$300–500 (≈US$40–65). We track every property at /casinos.
The Las Vegas Strip generates about US$8B a year in gaming revenue. Cotai does roughly four times that. The numbers are obscene — and so is the architecture. This is what each property is actually like to walk into.
The eight that matter
What you'll actually pay at the tables
Macau is baccarat country — 70%+ of gaming revenue comes from a single game. Mass-floor minimums in 2026:
- Baccarat: HK$300–500 (≈US$40–65)
- Blackjack: HK$300, often 6:5 payouts (avoid these)
- Roulette: single-zero is standard; HK$50 inside / HK$200 outside
- Sic Bo: HK$50 minimum, the local crowd's game
Premium-mass rooms (HK$1,000–5,000 minimums) are where you actually get the comp economics — but only worth it if you're betting that level anyway.
Which to pick by trip type
Getting around — and why HK isn't far
The HK–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge cuts ground transit from Hong Kong to ~45 minutes. The TurboJet ferries are faster — 55 minutes door to door. Cotai is a 15-minute taxi from either ferry/bridge.
Cotai's free shuttles are the smartest move once you're there. Every property runs buses to ferry terminals, the airport, and central Macau. You can hop properties all day for free.
What we'd actually do
A 3-night trip we like:
- Day 1: Land at MFM, check into Wynn Palace, walk to MGM and Studio City, dinner at Robuchon au Dôme (Grand Lisboa).
- Day 2: Cotai casino crawl by free shuttle. Lunch at Wynn's Wing Lei Palace. Evening at Venetian and gamble at Parisian.
- Day 3: Hong Kong day trip via bridge, ferry back for night session at City of Dreams.
