Switzerland licenses 21 casinos under the federal Casino Act (Type A "Grand Casinos" with no betting limits, Type B with limits). Mostly small, mostly upscale, almost all in spa or lake-town locations.
Casino Barrière Montreux — the lake flagship
On Lake Geneva, in the heart of Montreux. Operated by Groupe Barrière (the French operator). Modern building; full European game menu; pleasant terrace with lake views. Combined with the Montreux Jazz Festival in July, this is the headline summer-trip casino in Switzerland.
Casinò Lugano
Italian-speaking Ticino canton, southern Switzerland. Casino Lugano on Lago di Lugano. Larger than most Swiss casinos, more "Italian" in clientele and energy. Modern building, full game menu, multiple restaurants. Easy day trip from Milan.
Grand Casino Bern
In the Schweizerhof Hotel area near the train station. Compact, well-run, pleasant. Best for a stop on a Swiss city tour rather than a destination.
Casino Davos / St. Moritz / Interlaken
Rules and play
Swiss casinos run 3:2 blackjack with reasonable rules; single-zero roulette; Punto Banco. Some properties run Texas Hold'em cash games and tournaments.
Slots are heavily regulated; volatility lower than Vegas standard.
Practical
Switzerland isn't a casino-destination country — it's a "casino as one evening of a longer trip" country.
